Today we’re testing out the Potensic D88 drone. Potensic has an excellent reputation for quality drones that are also reasonably priced. The D88 is certainly one of the best drones in this price range. We will be reviewing this drone based on…

  • Design and Build Quality
  • Flying Experience
  • Camera Performance
  • Battery Performance
  • Pros and Cons of the Potensic D88
  • Design and Build Quality

When it comes to buying a premium drone, Design and Build Quality are two major points that you must consider. It’s very important because you will be paying a lot of money, and you deserve to have a drone with great design and build Quality.

potensic D88

Let’s start our review with the design of the Potensic D88, which is surely one of the main highlights of this drone. The design of the Potensic D88 is very different from conventional drones at this price point. The drone has a boxy design, which looks very interesting. It has a combination of dark gray and black, which gives a very premium look to the drone. The thing which we liked the most about Potensic D88’s design is that its foldable design, which means that you can easily carry it around in your backpack.

When it comes to build Quality, the D88 also doesn’t disappoint. At first glance, it may seem a very fragile drone, but in hands, it feels very solid. It’s made of plastic, and we think that the drone can handle minor crashes easily. However, just like other drones, we also don’t think that it will handle the major crashes pretty well.

Potensic D88 Flying Experience

When it comes to premium drones, the flying experience is usually really good, and the Potensic D88 is no exception here. We are happy to report that it’s a beginner-friendly drone. If you have never flown a drone before, but you know the basic know-how of the general technology, you can easily learn to operate it.

Our whole flying experience with the Potensic D88 was very pleasant, mainly due to the fact that it’s loaded with premium features, which make it very easier to operate the drone. For starters, you get the Follow me mode, in which the drone will follow you anywhere you move. On top of that, it comes with a point of interest mode, which allows the drone to fly around the object clockwise. It’s a very useful model for taking stunning shots from a drone.

You can also fly the drone on a specific route, which you can draw on your mobile screen, and the drone will follow it. Also, the drone comes with an auto return feature, which means that you won’t lose your drone if you lose the signal or run out of battery. You also get the option to bring the drone back to your location by using a simple button. The overall flying experience with the Potensic D88 is very pleasant, and you will surely love it. However, we felt that the drone lack the gestures support, which could have been a plus.

Camera Performance

The Potensic D88 comes with the 4K Camera, which allows you to capture stunning shots with great detail. It also comes with 110-degree wide-angle lenses, which allow you to cover more area in a single shot. The drone also features the one-axis gimbal, which ensures that you get smooth footage without any shakiness.

Our overall experience with the Potensic D88 was good. The drone can capture amazing photos and videos. Its altitude hold feature comes in handy when it comes to taking a photo because it allows the drone to hold its altitude in the air. The drone is also capable of 5G high-speed image transmission, which allows you to enjoy the first-person view of the drone on your smartphone. It can transmit the footage up to 984ft, which is surely great. The only downside of the Potensic D88 is that its gimbal can only be moved in one-axis, which can be a deal-breaker for some people.

Battery Performance

Battery Life is the major problem with drones these days, but it’s not the problem with the Potensic D88. The drone comes with a 3400 mAh Battery, which offers a flight time of around 18 minutes on a single charge, which is pretty impressive. One of the main reasons behind this great performance is the brushless motor on the Potensic D88, which is more power-efficient than conventional motors.

The company also offers two batteries with the Potensic D88, which means that you can get around 36 minutes of flying time using both batteries. Overall, the battery performance of the Potensic D88 is very impressive, and it’s much better than many drones at this price point.
