Welcome to today’s blog – the Snaptain SP600 Review. Could this be the Best Drone for Beginners?

Design and Build Quality

When it comes to budget drones, the design is usually not the main focus, and the Snaptain SP600 is no exception. The design language of the Snaptain SP600 is very similar to the popular drones like DJI Phantom, and it’s clearly evident that the company took inspiration from the best-selling drone by DJI. However, it’s not bad considering that the DJI Phantom series features one of the most-refined drone designs in the industry.

Like DJI Phantom, the Snaptain SP600 also has a very seamless design. The drone comes with 4 LEDs beneath the rotors, which will help you locate the drone at night. Also, it features a stand, which serves two purposes: the first purpose is to provide protection to the camera, and the second purpose is to allow the drone to land. The overall design of the Snaptain SP600 is really good, even though it’s a copied design.

When it comes to Build Quality, we are also pretty satisfied. The Snaptain SP600 comes with a plastic build, which is very common in drones at this price point. However, it’s hard plastic, which allows it to handle the minor impacts pretty well. But, we would recommend you to be careful flying it because a hard impact can potentially damage the drone’s body. We are satisfied with the overall build quality of the Snaptain SP600.

Flying Experience

Flying Experience is one of the main highlights of Snaptain SP600. The drone is equipped with a number of great features that make the whole flying experience very pleasant. For starters, you get the Trajectory flight feature, which allows you to draw the path on the screen, and the drone will follow it.

On top of that, it also comes with the Altitude hold feature, which comes in handy, especially if you are into drone photography or videography. The drone also features the smart voice control feature, which you can use to control the drone with voice commands. For example, if you want to take off the drone, just say, “Take Off.” Also, say “To Leftside” to move the drone in the left direction and so on.

Another great feature of the Snaptain SP600 is that it comes with Gesture Controls. For example. If you want to take photos, just make the victory sign in the air. If you want the drone to capture the video, just open your palm in the air, and the drone will detect the gesture. The overall Flying performance of the Snaptain SP600 is really good, and we think that the Snaptain SP600 comes with all the bells and whistles which you can expect from a good budget drone.

Camera Performance

The Snaptain SP600 comes with the 720p HD Camera, which allows you to take the best photos. The great thing about this camera is that it comes with a 120 degree Field of View (FOV), which allows you to capture more area in a single shot. It’s also capable of taking some decent videos as well. Also, you can take pretty stable videos with Altitude hold mode.

When it comes to streaming, the Snaptain SP600 is capable of live streaming the footage in the First-person view within the range of 200ft, but it will also depend on the obstacles in the way. If you have obstacles like buildings or trees in the way, the range can cut short, which is a common issue with WiFi-based streaming.

Battery Performance

Battery Performance is another area where the Snaptain SP600 truly shines. It comes with a 1300 mAh battery, which offers a flight time of 15 minutes on a single charge. The great thing about the Snaptain SP600 is that it comes with two of them, which means you will get around 30 minutes of flight time, which is remarkable. Also, another great feature of this drone is that it comes with a low battery indicator, which will alert you before the drone runs out of battery.

Snaptain SP600 is arguably one of the best budget drones, and if you are just starting out, SP600 is probably the best option for you. There’s also the Snaptain SP650.
